I thought the movie was very informational but the way Michael Moore showed everyone at their weakest moments was a little disturbing to me. He used fear and stupidity to relay his message. Other than that I thought the movie was very Informational; it really gave me a solid background about all that occrued at Columbine.

Homework in College

I with college professors would think before they dish out homework. Most professors don’t realize how much work a student actually has to do. With an average sixteen credits next semester, I will probably have about two hours of homework a night on top of about a half hour of study time. I would like to actually enjoy some of my weekday time at college, not just being stuck in the study room or library.

Yesterday marked one of the most historic happenings in our generation: the first african american president of the the U.S. was elected. This was a very great day for young people everywhere finally the voice of the people was heard, “change.” Although I did not vote I am excited to see what Barack can do for our country. I felt that I was not knowledgeable enough about the candidates nor mature enough to make the decision on to who will run this country. I plan on supporting Barack in his new job and hopefully educate myself more about the political system, so that I may vote can in the next election.

Something happened to me yesterday that really ticked me off. This kid on my floor barged into my dorm room and asked me if I’d voted. I responded no and he gave me a look that I took as him saying that he is better than me. I said that I don’t feel that our vote really counts because of the electoral college anyways, but he continued to ramble on saying that I couldn’t complain about anything in the world anymore because I didn’t vote. Who the fuck (excuse the language) does this kid think he is? Just because I personally feel that I don’t know enough about the champions and the system doesn’t mean I don’t care about our country. I really feel that if someone chooses not to vote people should respect that and not try and get in there face to persuade them other wise; I just take that as disrespect.

Does it really count?

This question has always intrigued me. All those people telling me to go out and vote, or vote or die are driving me crazy. When will people realize that It’s not up to us, its all up to the electoral college votes. They are the only votes that really count (remember Bush vs Gore). I feel that the only way true democracy can be achieved is if we get ride of the electoral college and let true freedom begin.

MLL Adds Longpole

Finally Major League Lacrosse adds a long-pole-middi to the defensive roster. Since its existence, the MLL has always restricted teams to having three defenders. The fourth long-pole has always been in high school and college ball, and was only a matter of time until it reached the pro level. Coming from a long-stick-middi, I feel its a necessary position to have expecially because more popular NCCA leaguge have it. This also gives LSMs out of college a chance to play in the pros.

I’m not a huge fan of debating, but when certain discussions come about that interest me, I tend to speak my mind on that matter. I would say my weakness in debating is political knowledge, because I really don’t have any background on that topic.

Some topics that interest me include: sports, education, college workload, computers, technology, music, art, cars, military, and jobs.

The dorms (week 6)

The way that NMU forces us to stay in the dorms for two years is plain wrong. Why should it matter where I choice to live as long I’m still going to the school. The only reason NM makes us stay for another year is because they know that they will make more money with the extra room and board.

She would be a brunet with long silk-like hair. Her eyes would be a mixture of green and blue with a seductive glare. She would be someone that I could tell anything to and she would understand. If I ever needed someone to talk to after a family fued or a bad work day she would be their for me.
